Example organizations using process mining
A few stories
Patient discharge process
Public hospitals face immense pressure to provide patients
with efficient treatment and a rapid discharge from the
hospital. An effective process structure is essential to
systematically ensure appropriate levels of care for
patients being discharged across shifts and care
providers.
Cancer diagnostic delay reduction
The Zero-Paper project is a strategic action for our
regional Health Care system (Galicia - NW Spain), aiming
to integrate all the patient information in a unique
access point, avoiding mistakes, administrative paperwork,
and duplicates. Trying to mimic a classic paper process in
an electronic system is constantly revealing
inefficiencies, mistakes, and untraceable processes.
Process mining techniques help to analyze the hospital
processes to improve them.
Process Mining at Seoul National University Bundang Hospital
Seoul National University Bundang Hospital (SNUBH) is one
of the major hospitals in Korea with a professional
medical staff, state-of-the-art facilities, and an
advanced medical environment. The hospital is involved in
several ICT (Internet and Communication Technology)
research projects, such as the U-Healthcare project, Smart
Hospital project, etc. In this research funded by the
Korean government, we applied process mining techniques to
analyze the outpatient care processes in SNUBH.
